Whats up people? I have decided to start writing reviews on the blog about various topics relating to Android. I will write reviews about Android devices, there comparisons with other devices and other relating topics. Well for starters my first review is going to be about my new Asus Nexus 7. This is my first review so if i make any mistake, I will appreciate that you report it to me.

Nexus 7 is Googles first tablet market made by Asus. It was released last summer and from then it has rocked the shelfs. With a rock bottom price of only $190, it is consumer's most favourite device. Well excluding the price, there are also countless reasons why this device is considered the best. Wielding Android 4.2 Jelly bean, a 7inchs IPS screen, a quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, a Tegra 3 Chipset and a 4350mAh battery, this device surely deserves your consideration. Even after one year, when countless devices by different manufacturers have emerged this device is surely considered by many.

Reasons to consider this Device:

1) Gamers Favourite:
Water droplet effect on Tegra 3 devices in Dead Trigger
This device is considered by gamers because it is packed with a quadcore processor, 1 GB Ram and the best of all it is a nVidia Tegra 3 device which is the best GPU. This gives clear and realistic gaming experience and is a recognised force. There are many apps which offer better optimizations to Tegra 3 ex. Dead Trigger, Granny Smith.etc. I know that many of you will say that Tegra 4 is the best gaming GPU, however it is only available in one or two devices right now. Still this device is a Gamers choice as i too bought it because of this specification and its reasonable price.

2) Powerful:
Packed with 1 GB Ram and a quadcore processor, this baby here apart from high gaming delivers smooth graphics and also has the ability to run much more apps and games. I find its multi-tasking quite helpful which is all due to its power. If i am not wrong this device can be considered as one of the first android devices to yield quad-core processor.Although new devices have sprang up which are more powerful then this device like Samsung Galaxy S4 or Sony Xperia Z, however if you bring up the price list there is little to complain about it.

3) Design:
Well as the name suggests the tablet has 7 inchs screen and is a small tablet. Its is about 10.9 mm thin and 335 g which is considerable light. Its dimensions are about 120x199mm which means it can be shoved in your back jeans pocket or in your jacket. Its physical buttons and ports are minimum consisting of a power and volume keys on the right hand side while the micro USB port and headphone jack are down below. Its also consists of  a 4 pin connector on the left hand side for docking various accessories. It also consists of a front camera for video calls just above the display screen.

4) Operating Software:
Nexus 7 is packed with the best operating system, android jellybean v4.2.2 which is the newest and best software. However it is not pre-updated and you will have to update it by yourself as you recieve only android 4.1 which is not bad either. Jellybean is much faster than the previous version i.e Icecream Sandwich with a slick and beautiful UI. According to the latest news the newest upcoming version 4.3 will also roll out for this device, however it is a minor update. So minor that it is still Jelllybean. Lets just hope that the Key Lime Pie i.e android 5.0 will also be released for this device.

5) Battery Life:
Many of you will be thinking that by owning such hardcore specs this devices battery will drain faster then you will realize, however thats not the case. Nexus 7 is backed up by a 4325 mAh battery that ensures gamers of 6-8 hours of continous gameplay, 10-12 hours of web browsing and almost 3 days of tablet laying idle with Wi-Fi switched on. In order to test the battery, I fully charged the device switched on Wi-Fi, bluetooth and maxed out the brightness. After a whole day of laying idle it reached down to 77% which is not bad considering all the battery drain due to Wifi and bluetooth. The battery is Non-Removable which doesnt allow you to pop it up regualrly, saving some juice.

Flaws:

1) Micro SD card Slot:
Well the biggest flaw in this tablet is that it has no expandable memory option i.e no MicroSD card slot. This is probably the biggest let down about the Nexus 7. Asus told us there is less focus on local storage with content stored in the cloud. However, the Nexus 7 isn't equipped with 3G capabilities.
According to consumers this is a plot by google to generate money by using their cloud services, however every man-made thing is not perfect. This means that you are stuck with either 16 GB or 32 GB for all your apps.

2) Camera:
In an attempt to save costs there's no rear facing camera present on the Nexus 7. This doesn't bother many people, seeing as smartphone cameras tend to be better and more suitable to use. More importantly than a rear facing camera, there is a fairly decent 1.2MP front facing camera for video chats, though. There's no camera app pre-installed so you'll have to visit the Play Store to get some software to utilise the camera. I found the picture quality easily adequate for taking a few snaps and video calling. Well according to me, this is the biggest let down of this tablet.

There you have it folks, a complete Nexus 7 review by me. If you have any query or if there is something missed by me and you want to share it, please don't hesitate. I would also appreciate some helpful tips which will promote my future endeavors to write another review. I would also like to thanks Techradar for some helpful tips.
