The Second Generation of Nexus 7

Google unveiled the New Nexus 7 tablet the morning of July 24, which is as you can say the successor of last years Nexus 7. Nexus 7 brings you the perfect mix of power and portability and features the world's sharpest 7" tablet screen at a reasonable price. The highly anticipated device features full HD resolution - 1920 x 1200 - making this the highest resolution 7-inch tablet. The new tablet also offers the newest version of Google's operating system, Android 4.3. Like its predecessor, it offers Ultra High specifications in low cost price, which is one of the main reason why it has a lot of fans. With a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro processor, clocked at 1.5 GHz and 2GB of RAM, everything runs faster. Plus, high-performance rendering and adreno 320 GPU ensures 3D graphics are smooth and dynamic, increasing your gaming experience. All these specifications are backed up with a 3950 mAh battery, capable of wireless charging.

Whats The Update?

Nexus 7 2012 won a lot of hearts when it was released because it contained exceptional specifications at an exceptional price which can rightly be called "The Consumers Device". However it did contain some flaws like no 3G capibillity, no MicroSD card slot and no primary camera but like they say "no man-made thing is perfect". To get a detailed picture of the first Gen Nexus 7, click here. However unlike other android manufacturers, Google improves its device upto a great extent by removing its predecessors flaws.
Updates in the new Nexus 7, comparing with previous Gen.

Double The Power:

As you all might know that the previous Nexus 7 was no slouch regarding performance, the
2nd Generation is packed with 1.5GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU backed up by 2GB  of RAM. This ensures that your device run faster, smoother and delivers you all the fun you want in regard of playing games and customizing your device looks the way you want. However one of this devices flaw is that Google switched to Adreno 320 GPU and leaves nVidia Tegra 3, which is the best gaming GPU. I am not saying that Qualcomm and Adreno are any slouch, however a switch to Tegra 4 would have been really preferably...... atleast by me! The good news is that the 2nd Generation does support both 3G and 4G connections, which is brilliant news if you want data wherever you go.

Screen Improvements:

HD Display

With 7.02" 1920x1200 HD display (323 ppi) and 1080p HD IPS screen, your movie
screening experience just got better. 323 pixels packed into every inch allows you to read text that's sharper than the printed page, see images more vivid than the highest quality photo magazine. The previous Nexus contained 800 x 1280 pixels which are no doubtedly superb, however its predecessor contains the world's sharpest 7" tablet screen. We are talking about an increase in pixel density from 216ppi to 323ppi which is a massive update.

Capture those Precious Moments:

Another major new hardware component found in the new Nexus 7 is a 5MP rear-facing camera. Its a major addition not because it will be an important or particularly accomplished feature but because the previous model didn't have one at all. With its high internal and cloud storage combined with 3G/4G connections, you can save those moments anywhere, anytime. The front-facing camera is, once again, a 1.2MP example, so you probably won't see a huge difference in the quality of your video calls.

Thinner, Lighter and Smarter:

Despite all the enchanced features regarding performance, hardware and software, this device will also be smaller and lighter than the first generation device. It's almost 2mm thinner than the 10.56mm original Nexus 7, while the new device's side bezels shave off 3mm each to make it (you guessed it) 6mm narrower overall. All this trimming has done wonders for the new Google Nexus 7's weight, dropping 50 grams compared to its predecessor increasing it portability.

Battery:

You might be thinking that with all the above specifications this device must be backed up with some great deal of juice, however thats not the case. Its backed up by 3950 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery which is 400mAh short of the 1st Generation device. But still Google reckons you'll actually be able to squeeze an extra hour of usage out of a single charge of the new Google Nexus 7. This translates to nine hours of high definition video playback and 10 hours of web browsing. It also supports wireless charging which is another update to the previous years device.

Release Date and Price:

As you might have expected, the new Google Nexus 7 will debut in its home territory. It'll be available to buy in the US from July 30 through the Google Play Store and a number of leading US retailers. It will also be available in UK, Germany, South Korea, Japan, France, Spain, Canada and Australia in coming weeks of its release. Google Nexus 7 will start from $229 for the 16GB model in the U.S. That's $30 more than the previous device, though it packs a much bigger punch. Meanwhile, the 32GB Wi-Fi model will cost $269 which is really cheap if you also take into consideration its hardcore specs.
